Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Database Design and Implementation:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand database requirements.
  • Design and implement efficient and scalable database structures.
  • Ensure proper indexing, normalization, and data integrity.

Database Maintenance:

  • Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as backups and updates.
  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries for maximum efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

Data Security and Privacy:

  • Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular security audits and take corrective actions as needed.

Data Migration and Integration:

  • Plan and execute data migration projects.
  • Integrate databases with other systems as required.
  • Validate and ensure the accuracy of data during migration and integration.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in database management.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance database performance and reliability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in database management and administration.
  • Proficiency in database technologies such as MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
  • Strong understanding of database design principles and normalization.
  • Familiarity with data security and privacy regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
